LIGURIA
The
region of Liguria is located in northern Italy and its territory is mainly
mountainous since it confines in part with the Liguri Alps (Maritime)
and partially with the Apennines. A vast surface of this region confines
with the Ligure Sea and the coasts are very irregular and suggestive,
concentrating the population mainly around them. The Ligure coast can
be divided in Riviera di Ponente (Western Coast) from Genova towards the
west up to the French border and the Riviera di Levante (Eastern Coast)
from Genova towards the east up to the border with the Toscana region.
The capital city of the region is Genova, the other principal cities are
Imperia, La Spezia and Savona.
